A: Hi Tom. How are you?
B: Fine, thanks. And you?
A: Not bad, thanks.
B: Got anything special to do today?
A: Not really special. I am accompanying my mother. She's having a social gathering in the village.
B: May I join you? I haven't been to the village for ages.
A: Sure. Why not.
B: Which village is it?
A: It's called Ayawae village. That's where my mother was born 45 years ago.
B: I've never heard the name of that village. Is it far from here?
A: It's about one and a half hours' drive. If we go by bus, it's almost two hours' drive.
B: Shall I bring anything?
A: No, please don't.
B: What about some snacks?
A: Don't bother your head about it. My mom bought quite a lot of snacks for us.

A: Hi, Tom. Apa kabar?
B: Baik. Bagiamana dengan Anda?
A: Baik juga.
B: Ada rencana khusus hari ini?
A: Tidak begitu khusus. Saya akan menemani ibu saya ke kampung. Dia ada acara kumpul-kumpul di kampung.
B: Bisa saya ikut? Saya sudah lama tidak ke kampung.
A: Tentu saja. Kenapa tidak.
B: Kampung yang mana?
A: Namanya Kampung Ayawae. Itu kampung dimana ibu saya dilahirkan 45 tahun yang lalu.
B: Saya belum pernah dengan nama kampung itu. Apakah jauh dari sini?
A: Kira-kira satu setengah jam dengan mobil. Jika pergi dengan bus, bisa hampir 2 jam.
B: Mau saya bawakan sesuatu?
A: Tidak perlu.

B: The cheapest way is to go by bus. The fare is only Rp.40,000.

A: I see. I think I’ll take the bus. Can I wait here to catch the bus?
B: No, you can’t. The bus doesn’t pass by this road. You should go to the bus station. It’s not far from here. Take the blue minibus from here. All blue minibuses go to the bus station. It costs you Rp.4,000 or you can order a motorbike taxi online if you have the application on your phone.
A: I’d rather take the minibus. Thank you for your help.

John: That sounds great. How will we go there?
David: My dad is not using his car, so I can borrow it from him.

How would Yana,  a sales manager, report the sales indicated in the table above?
The following is an example of how she would report it. You may use your own sentences to report the sales. The information below is reported by Yana:

Anan Corporation is engaged in selling coffee, tea, and honey tea.

Our coffee sales have dropped steadily from 450 boxes in 2017 to 375 boxes in 2018 and 300 boxes in 2019. We are still investigating the cause of this continuous drops.

Tea sales also dropped from 300 boxes to 275 but the sales rose again to 450 boxes in 2019. The sales manager reported that the drop of sales from 300 boxes to 275 boxes was due to less energetic selling strategies. However, tea sales picked up again and rose from 275 boxes in 2018 to 450 boxes in 2019. This increase was due to improved selling strategies in certain areas.

Honey tea sales have continued to rise significantly from 350 boxes in 2017 to 600 boxes and 1000 boxes in the following years. The sales manager reported that in addition to solid selling strategies, honey tea product has gain popularity in the communities.

Adjective Order in Conversation

Perhatikan percakapan nya.

Judy

I have a very expensive new racing car. What about you?

Linda
I don’t have a racing car. I have a cheap old red car. It’s still in good condition.

Judy
No kidding? You have a lot of money. You can buy the most expensive new car.

Linda
Honestly, I’d rather not buy anything so expensive. What’s the use of having the most expensive new car? My cheap old red car does me good. It seldom breaks down and the spare-parts are cheap and available almost everywhere. By the way, how is your expensive large new white house?

Judy
I sold it. My husband suggested selling it. We are now living in a comfortable small house with a beautiful large greenish garden.

Linda
That sounds a nice house to live in.

Judy
It is. We love it. So do the kids.

Conditional Clauses in Conversation

Percakapan Menggunakan Conditional Clauses

  • Kevin :I am looking for a house to rent. Have you got information about it?
  • Archan: If I knew, I'd tell you about it now.
  • Kevin : I know you have no info about it right now. If I knew a place where I can find a house to rent, I wouldn't have asked you that question.
  • Archan: Actually, you get information by Google searching. Who knows you'll find the right one.
  • Kevin: I've searched for it in the internet but I couldn't find the one I have in mind.
  • Archan: What kind of a house do you have in mind? Kevin: A simple one. Not too expensive and close to shopping centers and a bus station. If I had a vehicle, living in a suburb would be fine with me.

Planning a Birthday Party

This is a conversation about planning a birthday party for your daughter: Dengarkan Percakapan tsb dengan seksama.

Wife
Next month is our daughter’s birthday – November 1st, 2018
Bulan depan ulang tahun anak kita –Tanggal 1 November 2018.
Hubby
I’ve been thinking about it. What kind of party do you have in mind?
Sudah lama saya memikirkan akan hal itu. Pesta ulang tahun seperti apa yang ada di benak mu?
Wife
I have no idea yet. She said she wanted to invite all her classmates. That’s about 18 of them.
Belum tau. Dia bilang ingin mengundang semua teman sekelasnya. Itu kira-kira 18 orang.
Hubby
What if we have a garden party at the backyard?
Bagaimana kalau kita membuat pesta taman di halaman belakang?
Wife
Sounds a good idea to me. We can’t decide where, though. Let me ask her if she has something else on her mind.
Kedengarannya boleh juga. Tapi kita tidak bisa memutuskan dimana. Coba saya Tanya dia jika ia ada rencana lainnya.

Jane! Come over here. I wanna talk to you!
Jane! Kemari. Ibu mau bicara sama kamu!
Jane
What is it Mom?
Apa bu?
Wife
It’s about your birthday party next month. Do you have anything on mind about your birthday party?
Tentang pesta ulang tahun mu bulan depan. Apa rencana mu untuk pesta ulang tahun mu?
Jane
What about having it at Pizza House?
Bagaimana kalau mengadakannya di Pizza House?
Wife
Your dad and I have no objection to that but let us figure out how much it costs. We still have two weeks’ time from now.

Selamat mencoba
